The Long March Demanding equal justice to Dalit Christians started at Kanyakumari at 10. a.m on 10th February. A team of forty marchers were greeted by 200 women and 100 men and other supporting people.
Fr. Arulanandam, the Kottar Diocesan Secretary for SC/ST Commission, welcomed the gathering. Ms. Helen Davidson Member of the Parliament (MP) presided over the meeting. Mr. Bellarmin EX MP, Mr. Noor Mohamad Ex MLA, Mr. Dalit Arockiadoss, DCLM, State President, Mr. Sandanadurai, NCDC Member, Mr. Antony Cruz, Dalit Christian Federation, Pastor Dhanaraj, Representative of the Salvation Army, the local parish priest felicitates the group.
Fr. Devasagaya Raj TNBC SC/ST Commission Secretary explained the purpose of the long march. Fr. Packianathan, former Secretary for TNBC SC/ST, gave the inaugural talk. Fr. Chandrasekar, the Kuzhithurai area Commission Secretary, coordinated the function.
Mr. George, the Zonal Coordinator, facilitated the whole function. Mr. Chinnappan, Mr. Babu, Mr.Vijayakumar, the coordinators, organized the gathering. Mr. John Rose and his team facilitated the program.
